August 12-13, 2022(Friday,Saturday) – Fiddlers’ Convention & Traditional Music Festival, Hillsdale County Fairgrounds, Hillsdale, MI.
Message from President of the MFA Bob Warner: Concerning the Convention at Hillsdale, MI . There is no Thursday evening potluck. Also, the ceremony of the Induction of Paula Brawdy into the Michigan Fiddlers Hall of Fame will be held on Oct 8th, 2022 at the Hastings, MI COA because of illness.

September 10, 2022(Saturday) – Studio 18, 1818 142nd Ave. Dorr, MI 49323 This jam only – the square dance will start at 6:30.
October 1, 2022(Saturday) – Huron Township Applefest Michigan State Fiddle Contest. The Huron Township Applefest invites all fiddlers to participate in the 35th Annual Michigan State Championship Old-Time Fiddlers Contest on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 3:00 pm in New Boston, Michigan.
Fiddlers register at 2:00 pm and draw for places at 2:30 pm. There is a $10.00 registration fee. Contestants will be required to play a waltz, a schottische, a jig and a reel, all in a manner suitable for Michigan-style old-time dancing. Contestants will be judged on timing/tempo, intonation, expression and repertoire. First prize-$200, second prize-$100, third prize-$50. Membership dues for the Michigan Fiddlers’ Association are $8.00 per family per year. The membership begins when you join or renew.
You can send your dues to Judy Moore, 18022 Moore Rd, Thompsonville, MI, 49683, or pay at any Fiddlers’ Jamboree or at the Convention in August. All checks should be made payable to the Michigan Fiddlers’ Association. Once your dues have been received, you will be sent or given a membership card and be placed on our membership list.
You can attend the functions without being a member, but we hope you will want to be an active member of the Michigan Fiddlers’ Association.
