Convention price: $10.00 per adult for the weekend. Camping available at the fairgrounds for an additional charge. Children 16 and under free when accompanied by an adult.

10:00-10:55    Beginning Mandolin Instructor – Dale Cole Education Building          Help in choosing a mandolin, care & setup. Learn some basic chords & a simple tune

10:00-10:55    Beginning/Intermediate Banjo Instructors – Bob Conley and Les Emard New Merchants Building     Will work with students, per their interest & skill level

11:00-11:55    Fiddle/Mandolin Instructor – Carl Visconti Women’s Congress Building All players welcome. Learn a few new tunes, some you didn’t know

11:00-11:55    Acoustic Bass Instructors – Mike and Sue Gleason Poultry Building Basic Bass – Chords & Rhythm

11:00-11:55    Using a Tablet Instructor – Dale Cole Education Building      Using an Android or Windows tablet with mobile sheets

11:00-11:55    Beginning/Intermediate Banjo Instructor – Bob Conley and  Les Emard New Merchants Building     Will work with students, per their interest & skill level

10:00-10:55    Mountain Dulcimer Instructor – Mary Jane Cookingham Women’s Congress Building      Fiddle Tunes for every skill level! Learn easy-to-intermediate tunes, perfect for new players, and then be challenged by tunes for more advanced players.  Please bring a capo.

10:00-10:55    Fiddle Improvisation Instructor – Mike Gleason Poultry Building       How to get there

10:00-10:55    Banjo – Pete Seeger Style Instructor – Jim Balazar New Merchants Building   For intermediate & proficient banjo players, beginners encouraged to attend. Handout will describe technique in detail, will include music & tablature to guide you through a song. As time allows after workshop I will be available for follow up instruction.

11:00-11:55    Intermediate Hammered Dulcimer Instructor – Paula Brawdy Women’s Congress Building   Learn some fiddle tunes.  Bring your tuned dulcimer

11:00-11:55    Fiddle/Developing Vibrato Instructor – Jim McKinney Poultry Building    Learn exercises & technique to help develop a functional vibrato. Bring your tuned violin. The handout will contain no music.

11:00-11:55    Beginning Guitar Instructor – Dale Cole Education Building Help in choosing a guitar, care & setup. Learn some basic chords & tips on playing rhythm guitar

11:00-11:55     Basic Banjo Instructor – Leroy Bayliss New Merchants Building   Changing strings, setting bridge, head tension & general maintenance. Basic chord shapes, where chords are found, why to learn to play chords/rhythm

Membership dues for the Michigan Fiddlers’ Association are $8.00 per family per year. The membership begins when you join or renew.

You can send your dues to Judy Moore, 11224 Davis Rd, Middleville, MI 49333, or pay at any Fiddlers’ Jamboree or at the Convention in August. All checks should be made payable to the Michigan Fiddlers’ Association. Once your dues have been received, you will be sent or given a membership card and be placed on our membership list.

You can attend the functions without being a member, but we hope you will want to be an active member of the Michigan Fiddlers’ Association.
